Introduction
These terms govern your access to and use of www.bauhaus-legal.com and any subdomain or successor site we operate (the "site"). By accessing or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. The site is operated by BauHaus, a New York law firm with offices at 447 Broadway, 2nd Floor #1675, New York, NY 10013, United States.
Important notices
- Attorney advertising. Some content on this site may be considered attorney advertising under the New York Rules of Professional Conduct, including Rule 7.1. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. The selection of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based solely on advertising.
- No legal advice. The site provides general information only. Nothing on the site is legal advice or a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney about your specific circumstances. Legal questions are fact-specific. Do not act, or refrain from acting, based on site content without consulting a lawyer admitted in the relevant jurisdiction.
- No attorney-client relationship. Use of the site does not create an attorney-client relationship. A relationship is established only when we conclude we are willing and able to represent you and we sign a written engagement letter. Until then, do not send confidential or privileged information. Communications from prospective clients are subject to New York Rule of Professional Conduct 1.18, and we will run a conflicts check before agreeing to represent you.
Use of the site
- License. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the site for your personal or internal business purposes. BauHaus attorneys are admitted in New York and the federal jurisdictions identified in our biographies. For matters governed by other law, we coordinate with local counsel admitted in the relevant jurisdiction. Nothing on the site solicits representation in jurisdictions where we are not authorized to practice.
- Intellectual property. The site and its content, including text, graphics, logos, and the BauHaus brand, are owned by BauHaus or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may print or download limited portions for personal, non-commercial use. Any other use, including republication or commercial redistribution, requires our prior written permission.
- Acceptable use. Do not use the site to submit false, misleading, or unlawful information; impersonate any person; transmit malware; interfere with site infrastructure; scrape content beyond what robots.txt permits; gain unauthorized access; or violate applicable law. We may suspend access at any time for any reason.
Submissions and feedback
- Submissions and feedback. If you submit a question, comment, suggestion, or other feedback through the site, you grant BauHaus a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate it for any purpose. Do not submit anything you consider proprietary or confidential outside of an executed engagement letter. This does not apply to information shared as a prospective client, which is treated under our privacy policy and Rule 1.18.
- Third-party links and AI. The site may link to third-party content. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party sites; inclusion of a link is not an endorsement. We use enterprise AI tools in our practice. AI is a leverage tool, not a substitute for legal judgment. Every deliverable is reviewed and signed off by a qualified attorney. Information you submit through this site is not used to train third-party AI models.
Disclaimers and liability
- Disclaimers. The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, and quiet enjoyment. We do not warrant that the site is uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that content reflects the most recent legal developments.
- Limitation of liability and indemnification. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BauHaus and its attorneys, employees, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of your use of the site. Our aggregate liability will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars. You agree to defend and indemnify BauHaus from claims arising out of your breach of these terms or misuse of the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the New York Rules of Professional Conduct.
Governing law and changes
- Governing law and venue. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
- Termination. We may suspend or terminate your access to the site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason. Provisions concerning intellectual property, submissions, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and these miscellaneous provisions will survive termination.
- Changes and miscellaneous. We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated terms on this page and update the effective date above. Continued use constitutes acceptance. These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and BauHaus regarding your use of the site. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. You may not assign these terms without our written consent.
